This policy covers www.virtualdisplay.io, the website you are reading now. If you have a Portal account, a separate privacy policy applies there: Portal processes different data, such as your account and your invoices.

- **Portal privacy statement:** https://portal.virtualdisplay.io/privacy

- **KvK:** 98656694
- **VAT:** NL868587321B01
- **Address:** Spangesekade 166, 3026 GX Rotterdam, Netherlands

## 2. What data we collect

On this website that happens in three places.

### Contact form

Your name, email address and message are required. Company name and phone number are optional. What you fill in reaches us as an email.

### Technical data

On every visit our server records your IP address and browser type. When you submit the form we use your IP address for one minute to stop anyone sending the form hundreds of times in a row.

### Statistics

We measure which pages get visited, which site you arrived from, which browser and device you use, and which country you are in. That measurement works without cookies and does not recognise you across websites. It cannot identify an individual visitor.

## 3. What we use your data for

### Answering your question

We read and reply to the message from the contact form.

### Securing the website

Preventing the form from being abused for spam.

### Improving the website

Seeing which pages get read, so we know what to work on.

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell it on. And we do not add you to a mailing list you did not ask for.

## 4. Legal basis

We process your data on two grounds under the GDPR.

### Performance of, or steps prior to, a contract

When you approach us through the form about working together.

### Legitimate interest

For securing the form, and for statistics we cannot trace back to a person.

## 5. Retention periods

We keep your message for as long as we need it to handle your question, follow-up questions included. After that we delete it. If you want it gone sooner, email support@virtualdisplay.io.

### Your message and contact details

Until your question has been handled.

### Server logs containing your IP address

Our hosting provider Vercel keeps these briefly and deletes them automatically.

### Statistics

These cannot be traced back to you, so they hold no personal data to keep or delete.

## 6. Sharing with third parties

We do not sell personal data. We do rely on three parties that are technically necessary to run this website.

### Brevo

Delivers the email produced by the contact form. Brevo is a French email service provider.

### Umami Cloud

Provides our visitor statistics. Umami works without cookies and stores nothing that identifies you. Their servers are in the EU and the United States.

### Vercel

Hosts this website. Every visit passes through their servers, which puts your IP address in their logs briefly.

To keep bots out we use Altcha, which runs on our own server. No data goes to a third party for it. We deliberately do not use Google reCAPTCHA.

## 7. Cookies

This website sets one cookie, and only on the contact page. It is called csrf-token, lasts one hour, and makes sure nobody else can submit the form on your behalf. Without it the form does not work.

We use no tracking cookies, no advertising cookies and no third-party cookies. That is also why there is no cookie banner here: a strictly necessary cookie does not need one.

## 8. Security

We take appropriate technical measures to protect your data.

### Everything over HTTPS

Traffic between your browser and our server is encrypted and browsers are told never to connect any other way.

### Form protection

The form is protected against requests from other websites, against bots, and against excessive submissions from one address.

### Input is bounded

What you type is capped in length and stripped of code before it reaches our mailbox.

## 9. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the following rights.

### Access

You can request which data we hold about you.

### Rectification

You can have incorrect data corrected.

### Erasure

You can request deletion of your data.

### Portability

You can request a copy of your data.

### Objection

You can object to processing based on legitimate interest.

### Restriction

You can ask for processing to be restricted temporarily.

Send your request to support@virtualdisplay.io. We handle it within 30 days.

## 10. Complaints

If you have a complaint about how we handle your data, tell us first at support@virtualdisplay.io. If we cannot resolve it together, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

## 11. Changes

We update this policy when the website changes. The date of the most recent version is shown at the top of this page. The current version is always the one here.
